Abstract The characteristics of a diffusion flame resulting from the gasification condensed fuel are predicted synthesis simple models and data. Combustion droplet in microgravity is used as canonical configuration to illustrate methodology. simplicity spherical detail measurements make available experimental data ideal for this study. approach followed combines classical analytical solution first proposed by Spalding describe phase with numerical method that describes gas phase. Available on geometry regression rates initialize model produce adequate predictions time evolution all relevant variables. was shown proper under numerous configurations very small computational cost.
